The interim edition of Mizmor 089 was updated today (Thursday, November 20). This limited edition now covers the first 19 of the 53 verses that make up the mizmor. The newly added verses are the source of our introductory tefillah for the sounding of the shofar on Rosh Hashanah. They are part of the authentication of  David’s place in history because the horn of pride in David’s royalty correspond’s to the horn of the shofar. It symbolizes a pride based on subservience to Hashem.
